"A great example of 'olde Englishe' pub food. Aimed primarily at City lunches (and the prices reflect the expense accounts of the diners), the food is well prepared, cooked as required and well served. Drinks, however, are certainly priced at the higher end of reasonable. Overall, a traditional venue serving traditional food at unfortunately modern prices!"

"An utterly unspoilt and perfect spot for a city gent to dine. You may well be transported back to school and made to sit on a bench next to other lunchers, but this adds to the atmosphere. The service by mumsy ladies is also superbly Dickensian... "as I leave and breathe sir, eat your greens if you please! What goes around comes around don't you know...!" (sic)"

"The Steak Diane is superb, although the side dishes are of slightly weak quality. Many of the other patrons were obvious city types on high-end business lunches. We were told we might have to share a table, but it didn't get that busy while we were there. The staff is very friendly. The waitress told me that a G&T; was available in large or small when I ordered one, so I asked her how large was large? She said, "Just about right." And it was!"
