The Traditional English Restaurants of London

Your guide to English restaurants in London

Butler’s Wharf Chop House

Sir Terence Conran’s version of a Chop House, however, as you might expect from him, it is not exactly the traditional format.

Everybody agrees that it is certainly situated in an incredible position on the Thames, just next door to Tower Bridge, looking out over the river and all the majesty on the North Bank.

It does comes over though as being slightly less exciting and memorable than many of his other restaurants, but it does specialise in thoroughly authentic English ‘comfort food’, which, in the main, is well executed, and accompanied by an excellent wine list.

Dishes include such English classics as: jellied eels, steak and kidney pudding (with or without oysters), roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips with mushy peas, and puddings like Cambridge burnt creams.

Why not have a look at Their Website for much fuller details, including the menu for the main restaurant and the bar, and then tell us what you think of The Chop House by reviewing it?
