The Traditional English Restaurants of London

Steph’s has been a feature of Soho for over 15 years, and is one of London's few remaining owner-run restaurants. The menu offers an excellent choice of traditional British food with a twist, prepared from quality ingredients.

It is one of those places that only a uniquely individual owner could produce, and unlikely to be found anywhere other than London; you will either love it or hate it, there is never a middle-of-the-road reaction to Steph’s.

A high-kicking chorus line of flamingos provides the backdrop for a flamboyant and sparkling atmosphere, which has become a favourite amongst the theatre crowd. A jangle of bangles announces the arrival of the lady herself - yes, there really is a Steph - who's on hand to guarantee you a unique experience!

Their menu has become synonymous with the words "Comfort Food", offering a fine selection of traditional British food but each dish has been given a Steph’s style interpretation. The quality ingredients are freshly supplied and prepared daily.

Where else in London can you enjoy traditional fish and chips served in real newspaper, char-grilled SPAM with rocket and shaved Parmesan salad, or whiskied black pudding with granary toast? They’re also very proud of Rich's homemade pie of the day with Mashed Potato and their signature dish, Snuffy's chicken (pan-fried pieces of chicken breast, white wine and cream sauce, peppers and prawns, with rice).

The menu also includes such old British (?) favourites as chilli con carne, roast pepper stuffed with wild mushroom risotto and gravadlax – but who’s fussy about what is or isn’t British, as long as it tastes good.

With the traditional puddings, Steph’s comes into its own, chocolate rum sticky, bread and butter pudding and double chocolate mousse.
