Simpson’s Tavern

This charming little anachronism in an alleyway off Cornhill has been purveying school dinner food to generations of Old School Tie City Folk, in one form or another, since 1759.
Whilst some puzzle about its continued existence in the modern world, and find it somewhat of an anachronism, its devoted and loyal army of fans would get extremely upset if it were to ever change.

The setting is genuinely old fashioned; some might call it gloomy, and don’t expect too much room, as the place is more than somewhat cramped.
It is only open for lunches during the week; the great thing is that it has kept faithful to its theme, and still attracts the same clientele that it has always aimed for, rather than becoming a bit of a tourist joint.
Note though that you cannot make a reservation.
