The Traditional English Restaurants of London

The much-loved Rib Room & Oyster Bar at The Carlton Tower in London's Knightsbridge, originally launched in 1961, has always been a bastion of beef and all that is traditional in British dining.

Following a major refurbishment in 1999, the dining room retains the 'clubby' atmosphere of The Rib Room while keeping apace with modern dining demands. The result is a glamorous dining room, which mixes sophistication with tradition.

Chef de Cuisine, Donato Russo’s menu remains heavily meat-oriented (the Roast Rib of Aberdeen Angus is a classic), there is also a focus on seafood and fish, particularly at the Oyster Bar. Typical dishes on the restaurant menu include:

Loch Fyne Oysters and Smoked Salmon, Roast Rib of Aberdeen Angus Beef served with Yorkshire Pudding and Baked Potato, Marinated Aylesbury Duck with Spiced Quince Compôte, and De-Luxe Seafood Platter.

Numerous paintings by Feliks Topolski adorn the walls of The Rib Room, while an imposing carved bronze bull is positioned by the bar, and a triptych fossil sculpture by Renn & Thacker Visual Artists in Partnership can be viewed as guests enter through the Sloane Street entrance.

Another original artistic feature is a fish tank displaying exotic fish on the outside wall of the restaurant.
