Goring Hotel Dining Room

The Goring is one of the very few family run and owned hotels left in London.

George Goring, who recently retired, though his son is now in charge, was a perfectionist and actually slept in every bedroom in the hotel every year to check that everything is done just right; he claimed that it was only by experiencing the guest’s experience that the hotel manager can know that he is getting it spot on.

This attitude carries through to the Hotel’s Dining Room, which many fans claim serves one of the best breakfasts in town.

However, it wins slightly more plaudits for its atmosphere and old-fashioned, quality service than for its food, which is nonetheless praised as good traditional British cooking.

They boast an extremely good value fixed price lunch, only £25 for two courses or £29 for three.

It is conveniently situated near Victoria Station, and well used by politicians and business people.
